AAF Metro Phoenix, (formerly know as the Phoenix Ad Club) is the local affiliate of the American Advertising Federation.

Three advertising visionaries – Jerry Arnold, Tasso Coe and Ivan Shun – were the moving spirits behind the inception of the Club back in 1937. They began the weekly meetings, with Club members gathering fifty-two times a year to hear speakers such as Barry Goldwater and Frank Lloyd Wright exchange ideas and enjoy the company of their peers during the course of a lunch or dinner at the Hotel Westward Ho.

Beginning in 1974, meetings were held twice monthly, September through June, at the BeefEaters Restaurant, the Hyatt Regency Hotel, the Phoenix Country Club, the Sterling Suites Hotel and the Camelback Inn. Bowing to members’ busy schedules, the meetings are now held once per month year around. The Club now meets on the first Thursday of each month at the historic Phoenix Country Club. Club members are deeply involved in advertising standards programs, advertising education, government relations, college educational programs and awards, and many other activities geared toward the enhancement of the metropolitan area of Phoenix.

Affiliated with the AMERICAN ADVERTISING FEDERATION, we join with other advertising clubs across the nation in seeing that high ethical standards are maintained in our profession. AAF Metro Phoenix, (formerly know as the Phoenix Ad Club) has provided leadership to, and been an active participant in, the qualitative growth of this beautiful community.
