Responsible People

We are a company of committed individuals. Ricky Johnson, our President, has been with us since 1978. Our Secretary/Treasurer, Penny Tagatz, has served AGD since 1981. William G. "Bill" Tagatz our Board Chairman founded the company back in 1959.

We recruit and employ people with the experience and skills necessary to install, repair and service garage doors, garage door openers and related products.

At American Iron Manufacturing, (a subsidiary of American Garage Door Co.) we create custom ornamental and functional ironwork products including security gates, ornamental gates and fences, pool fencing, stair railings, balcony railings and more. American Iron Manufacturing is a group of talented ironworkers who can fabricate custom pieces that fit your style, security needs and personality.

We at American Garage Door Co. do not manufacture the garage doors and related products that we sell. We choose to represent several reputable manufacturers. And we make these choices based on quality, safety, innovation, ease of installation, customer service and competitiveness. This allows us to give our customers a much broader selection of designs, functionality, accessories and price ranges.

Our subsidiary, American Iron Manufacturing Co. is a manufacturer of custom ornamental iron products. Each project is uniquely designed and engineered for a custom, specific application. We tailor our ironwork projects to suit our customers' needs and individual preferences. Unlike many Ironworkers, we are licensed, bonded and insured.
