Austin Industries has a rich history. We are one of the largest and most diversified construction firms in the nation. Our financial strength – projects in progress exceeding $2 billion in completion value – is a testament to our longstanding sound financial management.
In 1902, Frank and George Austin began the fabrication and installation of iron truss bridges across Texas and Georgia, advancing the transportation infrastructure to meet the new demands of automobiles. Charles R. Moore, a manager of the Austin Brothers Bridge Company, purchased the contracting portion of the company in 1918, modifying the name to Austin Bridge Company. Adapting to economic conditions and social change more than five decades, Austin Industries – the holding company – was formed in 1974 as a managing entity. Today, Austin Industries oversees the operation of three companies – Austin Bridge & Road, Austin Commercial and Austin Industrial.
An intense concern for the development, success and well-being of all Austin people and an unrelenting emphasis on performance… We’re committed to bringing out the best in ourselves and in one another. Shared values like open communication, a “can-do” spirit, personal accountability, participation and ownership create a climate of remarkably high standards for how well we do what we do. And, what we do is create value for ourselves and for others through exemplary performance. Exemplary performance means being the very best we can be in terms of lower cost, faster project completion, quality work, quick response to customer needs, safe operations and uncompromising integrity in everything we do.
