As before the Cafe is a Family business. Trish and her husband Russell owned and operated several restaurants in Phoenix and later the Sweet Potato Cafe. Having family in the kitchen and serving kept a high standard of quality. Keeping this staff and with Dean and his son James in the kitchen, a family and Prescott tradition continues.
There are very few things in life that you can count on to remain the same. The Sweet Potato Cafe is one. Prescott's favorite breakfast and lunch restaurant known for great food and "The Fastest Service in the West", has a new chef and owner.
Trish Bauer former owner and chef who created the wonderful recipes only found at the Sweet Potato Cafe, just couldn't retire until she found the right person to pass on the torch. Only someone who would take care of the Sweet Potato family of customers keeping everything the same from the food, service and staff would do.
Dean Herbert , a fan of Trish, has been a chef in fine restaurants for over 40 years and recently was the head chef at Prescott Lakes. His love for the great food served and the family atmosphere of the Cafe made him the right choice to to keep a Prescott Tradition alive and well. The dishes will remain the same and you may find a few new items added from time to time.
Early 2014, Dean plans to add dinner hours over the weekends. Taking his best recipes from over 40 years of experience will make the Sweet Potato Cafe Prescott's New Hot Spot for dinner.
