Sacred Mountain Medical Services, Inc. is an independently 100% Navajo owned and operated emergent ground ambulance company that has been operating on the Navajo Nation since 2002.
We provide local hospitals with their inter-facility transport needs and back-up 911 service to the Navajo Nation EMS system with BLS and ALS providers.
Our commitment goes beyond providing great patient care. It includes creating opportunities for those interested in the field, helping and supporting our public safety partners and educating the community to improve health and wellness.
In addition to our business qualifications, we are an Arizona Department of Health Services, Bureau of Emergency Medical Services, regulated emergent ground ambulance company that operates under a Certificate of Necessity (#127) for private land in Tuba City. Because we are regulated by the State of Arizona we have to comply with A.R.S. ยง 36-2212.A and A.A.C. Title 9, Chapter 25 in terms of qualifications of our equipment and vehicles, and credentialing of our emergency medical technicians and paramedics.
SMMS operates in three (3) communities and are currently pursuing expansion projects.
Tuba City Operations
Sacred Mountain Medical Services, Inc. was founded in Tuba City, Arizona in November 2002 and we are still currently servicing this community and hospital with paramedic (ALS) level service.
On the average, SMMS averages 1200 calls per year with two (2) ALS units, half of those calls being 911 emergency response and the other half inter-facility transfers.
