You can buy solar panels just like you buy a stereo. Shop around ... find the lowest price ... after all P/N 25256 is the same everywhere ... right? Well, yes ... sort of ... no, not really. It's true that a Kyocera panel from SkyPower is the same as a Kyocera panel from Joe's Roofing & Solararama ... but think about it. There's a lot more to a solar electric system than just the panels. In fact, the panels may actually be the least of it. Some argue that the inverter is much more important. The wires are certainly a huge and overlooked component and unlike a stereo, there are lots of ways to hook them up. Joe's Solarama could hook them up crappy and you might not ever know ... until you talk to your neighbor who's electric bills are so much lower than yours because he choose SkyPower.
We do know the most important thing is not kilowatts. A 5kW system deployed by an average solar provider probably will produce much less kilowatt/hours of electricity than a well designed, 4kW system from SkyPower. It's kilowatt/hours or MONEY/POWER that's the goal ... and for a long time ... not just the next thirty days, but the next thirty years. Tilt angles, inverter loading, string voltages, panel degradation and shade are but a few of the many things that make a BIG difference.
Sure you can buy P/N 25256 at the lowest price you can find ... but why? Unlike anything else you have ever purchased, this one actually makes money for you and someone else us is paying for most of it. What would you look for if you were shopping for a Golden Goose? Would you buy from the cleanest pet shop? Would try and find an ornathogist or a taxidermist? Would you want a fat Golden Goose or a thin one that lays more & bigger eggs? How would your shopping trip change if the King paid for most of the Goose to you only paid for a third? You know, it really is just not the same as shopping for a stereo.
Think about it. SkyPower. The difference is important.
